The UFC heads north of the border for the last Fox card of the year once it puts up the Octagon at Winnipeg on December 16. The main event features Robbie Lawler and Rafael dos Anjos — two former winners with aggressive, crowd-pleasing fashions — in a bout that could go a long way to discovering the upcoming welterweight title challenger.
The card top to bottom should be piled to the brim with finishes with the likes of Mike Perry, Santiago Ponzinibbio and Oluwale Bamgbose advised to compete.
Robbie Lawler vs Rafael Dos Anjos
Robbie Lawler (-110) is your definition of an exciting fighter. The southpaw goes well with his feet and angles exceptionally well thanks to his wealth of expertise in the Octagon. These abilities allow him to punish his opponent with his power combinations or crafty counter-strikes. But you have to wonder if he can sustain this fashion and tear.
“Ruthless” is essentially a sprawl-and-brawler. He has solid defensive wrestling that’s backed up by his own willingness to punish opponents who shoot for his legs. Only rarely will you see him shoot for a takedown himself however he is capable of doing so.
Rafael dos Anjos (-120) is mainly a pressure fighter that excels in dictating the pace of the fight. Dos Anjos typically works supporting a constant pumping jab and a few brutal leg kicks. His footwork helps him cut off the cage and suffocate his competitor. After his opponent is backed onto the cage, then RDA possibly blitzes with heavy palms or grinds out a takedown.
